NAV (Net Asset Value)

NAV (net asset value) is the estimated value of a fund’s assets, including cash and investments, minus its liabilities at a specified date. Private-company values rely on the fund’s valuation policy, and reporting frequency varies.

Example: Assets valued at $80 million less $5 million in liabilities produce a NAV of $75 million.
