DPI (Distributions to Paid-In)

DPI (distributions to paid-in) is the value of distributions to LPs divided by the capital they’ve paid in. It measures value delivered out of the fund, not the estimated value of investments still held. Check whether distributions include securities and whether any can be recalled.

Example: If LPs paid in $50 million and received $20 million in distributions, DPI is 0.4x. If TVPI is 3.0x on the same basis, RVPI is 2.6x.
